At Neat, we have designed and built a series of design led homes. We never compromise on design, but feel the industry has room for improvement when it came to our clients getting good value for money. With this in mind, we are now designing some off our houses so that they can be pre-built in our factory and shipped to site as almost complete units. This process saves on time, costs and improves quality. It means the client doesn't have to compromise on design, quality or budget.
Below is our Ashlar house project in the Cotswolds, this shows what can be achieved with factor built modular homes. We simply combine components to create a whole. There are few limits to what you can have, prefabrication is more a tool to control quality, cost and time.
With Ashlar house, the design of the user's experience of the space resulted from the sites specific context. A longitudal site resulted in the design formation of a long linear form on plan. Upon arrival at the front, the user's eye is drawn towards a sculpture in the rear garden - the garden then gradually unfolds as the user journeys through the space. The house fits in and adapts to its environment, which creates unique experiences of space for the user. Views are framed and spaces are designated as private and public. A lap pool allows for exercise and reflection.
